Why I Want To Be A Veterinarian Essay

Have you ever had a experience of finding an animal, adopting them, and caring for them until you can find a home for them, I have. As a kid me and my friends would always play vet, to us it didn’t matter if we were “caring” for my hermit crabs, fish, hamsters, dog, or stuffed animals we still “saved” their lives. Now i’ve joined horseback riding due to my love of animals. We have to care for the horses before and after our rides. I definetly want to have a career in caring for animals. Sometimes making sure animals are okay can be dangerous and hardwork but, the danger will not stop me! I want to be a vet because I love animals and have always grow up caring for animals even though my parents didn’t want me to. I want to save animals, make the right decision for the animal, and care for sick or injured animals. After researching i’ve found that there are some dangerous and unsanitary places in the work enviroment of a veterinarian, there are certain skills needed, and veterinarians makes a decent amount of money.

Veterinarians must be able to use surgical tools, working with others, working quickly, and being calm in emergencies. Less formal experience is also good, less formal experience includes working with animals at a farm, stable, or animals shelter. All veterinarians must have a lisensce and a Doctory of Veterinary Medicine. For a vet there are 40 specialities. One year internships are also avalible for some vets. One big thing some people don’t think about is are they going to be grossed out by being a vet. To be a vet you can’t have a fear of animals that you take care of and you can’t be afraid or disgusted by blood and other bodily objects.
