Radiology is a career that many people choose for the excitement and glamor. But, what are the responsibilities of this career? In this paper I will answer these questions. If this is the career chosen, what are the education requirements is there additional training necessary in order to become a radiology technician? Knowing the kind of environment a radiology technician works in, what kind of salary a beginning radiology technician could expect, and what kind of opportunities there are could make a difference in choosing this as a career? I think that radiology technicians are crucial to helping a hospital. I like radiology technicians because they are able to take pictures of what the interior looks like of the human body. You can tell a newlywed couple that they are having a baby, and what the gender is. They also keep detailed patient records.
Being a radiology technician has its perks. Radiology technicians help people who are experiencing medical problems. Through diagnostics that can be performed, treatment may be possible. In Kansas there is a program through Metropolitan Community College that you can get your two year degree in radiology technician. The median annual wage for radiologic technologists was $56,670 . Total Approximate Cost of the Radiologic Technology Program (In District) is $9,000. Approximate cost per semester for RATE courses is $1,500. As a radiologic technologist, you can expect to earn a starting salary of $18-22 per hour. Your earnings will grow along with your experience.
