When I was a young child, I always used to copy everything I saw. Every time I had watched a movie, I would act like the main character. If the main character was a superhero, then I would run around the house acting like them. Then as I got older I always I started thinking about careers for my future. First I wanted to be in the FBI, then I wanted to be an Engineer. Basically, I wanted to be everything that I could possibly be. Then I found film, in film I can create whatever I want. I get to create the story and that is what amazes me about film. Now film is my passion and it is the career that I have chosen to pursue, and I am determined to go into film. I heard about this film school and I did some research on it, and I wanted to join it. So I …show more content…
I felt really guilty though, because the tuition fee was not cheap. I did not want to have my parents spend so much money on me. But they said if film is what I wanted to do, then they would supply my needs. So I signed up and I was pretty excited because I was going to be in NYC for 3 weeks. Eventually the date came and it was my first day. I was excited but really nervous. I did not know many children there so I had to make friends. I’ve never been around New York alone, so everything was new to me. As we got there my sister told me to memorize the route we were taking so then I could do it myself and she could go to work without having to drop me off. We took the subway to Downtown NYC right by the freedom tower. We got off to Rector street and we walked to the building. We entered and my sister left me she gave me good luck and I went into the elevator. I went up for our floor and I was super nervous. I went to the front desk and got my ID and

In acting one I feel like I learned why more than what I intended. I think what most people and I would have thought is that acting is learning about how to play other people. But what we all can learn is that acting is way more then that. Acting is knowing that you can be anything in this whole entire universe even if this universe sees you as a nobody. I feel like everyday in this class I have a little bit more about myself.…

Over the summer, I went through a life changing experience that challenged how I looked at film and lead me to the conclusion that I was going to be a filmmaker. This life changing experience was the Emerson Pre-College program. I came to the program with the goal to learn about film and figure out what I wanted to do in college. The program taught me how to do everything: create a shot list, set up different shots, film, edit, and how to be not just a good storyteller but to be cinematic. I grew as a filmmaker significantly during this period and became inspired to pursue a career in film.…

I loved film, theater, and television because it let people escape for a moment into a fictional world. As an actress, you could be someone else. But on the flip side, I’ve since learned that actors are really not supposed to be trying to act--they should be trying to portray real life. When I was in high school, I got involved in the theater program, but I didn’t think it could be a real career. So I went off to the university and pursued a degree in marketing and…

As a mammothWayward Pines fan, I always did my utmost to notice every single character who made an entrance into the season two of the show, even if they were only there for a fleeting moment. In the case of Dakota Daulby, I was fully impressed with his ephemeral appearance, and I contacted him immediately for an interview. Recently, Dakota took some time from his frenetic schedule to answer a few questions about the extraordinary experiences and opportunities he has had throughout his career and even some hints as to what is up ahead for him. dakota-hs-1.jpg.jpg RH: What inspired you to become an actor?…

I was already quasi-pursuing an interest in film, but this was lift-off for me. I have done everything in my power, up to this point, to learn everything about film. I have taken a college class with the School of Visual Arts where I made a short film, volunteered with my Uncles Film Festival, and taken every class my high school has to offer regarding film. I am working as hard as I can to make this a viable lifestyle course. I want to do what I love but also make somewhat of a living on…

One of the things that I still have a hard time trying to understand is racism. I ask myself many times why people can’t get along with each other and put aside their differences for once and just to treat everyone equal. I also think about how unrealistic it is to ask for something so simple because people will always judge no matter how many movements or speeches you make, or how much you try to stop it because people stick to their beliefs and are ignorant to change even if it is for good. With that in mind you can still try make the ignorant understand because in my opinion if i have changed at least one person to be more caring and understand of other races that it is really worth it.…
