Why I Want To Be A Prosthodontist

Many reasons have encouraged me to be interested in Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and the Master of Dental Science Program in particular. However, these reasons could be concluded as the following; my ambition to pursue my education in the field that I love -prosthodontist- and my passionate to enhance research and teaching skills. This essay will discuss the reasons why I chose to apply for this program, and my professional goals in the future. Research and teaching are fundamental parts in my future career as an academician that have to be developed with a solid base of knowledge from an eminent school to guide me to be a good researcher and a university professor. I am planning to work in a university in my country to achieve the first part of goals, which is being a researcher who is able to enhance the environment of scientific research in my country and in the whole world as well. Clinically, I aim to have my own private clinic that provides the most advanced dental treatment. In Saudi Arabia, where I live, this kind of clinics that have qualified doctors is not uncommon, however they are unaffordable for the middle class let alone the poor one. For that reason, one of my long term goals is to provide these economic classes with high quality treatment with a reasonable prices. In education, I am looking forward to change the concept of teaching of one direction, which is common in my culture, and making the teaching process more interactive and excited for students, which would be reflected in their performance in a positive way, and would reduce the stresses that most dental students are suffering
