Many people say they want to be in the Health field due to the romantic view portrayed by the entertainment business. Yet when people get to the point where you face the reality of the health field they either cave under pressure or thrive. Someone once said “You hold the key to your future. The action you take every day shape your future”. So, what are the actions that I plan to take to thrive? A big role that plays into it is where the desire stems from, what area in the medical field you desire to enter, educational requirement and how you plan to reach them.

This has allowed me to determine the area I want work in. I started researching and making a list of the what I need to focus on to reach my goal of being a nurse practitioner.
Nurse practitioners is one of the highest position in the nursing fields, it doesn’t come easy as it requires lots of time, education and dedication. The minimum degree you must have is a Masters in nursing and requires to be registered nurse first. Some Characteristics needed to be in this field is Critical thinker, leadership skill and foster empathy.
As I embark my journey in the Health field I try to get the first-hand experience by visiting retirement and rehab center through volunteering. The HOSA program offered through my school has begun to help me build a foundation in health occupation. The health program offered at Westwood will give me the opportunity to obtain a CNA license, which will jumpstart my career in the medical field. I have also taken honors courses specifically in the fields of Math & science. As I conclude my 1st year of high school, I prepare to take the college entrance exam to enter the dual enrollment program at Indian river state college, which will allow me to graduate with an AA
