The community amongst band members is a key in our success, and I will strive to strengthen those bond. I would ask that they be mature in their actions, and make them aware that every single person in the band is necessary, whether the first chair or the last. Without the balance of instrument the band is rendered incomplete, and it shows. I would everyone that they are a link in the chain, and that they should trust and rely on each other to work their hardest. As a Drum Major, I will lead by my actions. I would do my best to keep my cool if things get out of hand, only raising my voice to let it be heard, not to drown out others. I will exhibit a calm, professional demeanor on and off the field to the best of my ability, showing my pride in being a member of the marching band, a member of something special. I will not act as if I am better than any other member of the band; I will only act as an equal. Conclusively, selecting me as a Drum Major would be an opportunity for me so that I may understand my abilities and my shortcomings as I strive to be the best I can be. I may not have the most experience out of my fellow band mates, but that doesn't mean I cannot lead. I believe that all it takes is a little perseverance, perception, and persistence.
