The University of Chicago satisfies my desires with the promise of an empowering education, and a community where one can thrive. As for satisfying my desires for the future, the University promises to provide its students with more than just a degree. I know that the University of Chicago is a liberal arts college, which interests me because of the learning style. I like the idea of smaller classes with a more student focused outlook, because it involves a deeper personal relationship between the professor and student. As for the community, I know UChicago has a diverse student body, which means development of an open mind, and plenty of interesting traditions. One of my favorite ones is the zombie run, which sounds quite entertaining. Along with a beautiful campus, the University of Chicago is the type of school that I want to be a part of. …show more content…
Some possible majors that interest me are Public Policy Analysis and Economics. The University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy offers these two majors and is renowned for providing its students with the tools they'll need for dealing with global conflicts. I know it also offers more than just studies, it offers real-time experience through internships and mentor programs. With plenty more creative opportunities, I know that graduating from this school would provide me with more than an education, but with the resources necessary for real life experience.
It would be an honor to go to the University of Chicago, where I believe I can acquire not just a great education, but also what is necessary for me to be successful in making a difference in the

Howard University guarantees their students a very well-rounded education, while still letting them dive into the beauty of their majors. As a Howard student, I will be able to reach my full potential intellectually and socially and strive for success in my intended field of study, Political Science. I’ve been interested in political science for a long time and what intrigued me the most was that I would be learning more about other countries and focusing on their cultures, belief systems, and stances on various international issues and crises. As well as an in-depth look at domestic politics and this country’s government, which goes perfectly with Howard’s convenient location in Washington, D.C. the home of Capitol Hill, The White House, and 177 foreign embassies.…

I would love the chance to attend The George Washington University and I believe my experience will benefit from the University Honors Program. Growing up in a minuscule town sheltered me immensely; the kids who will walk alongside me at graduation are the same kids I graduated preschool with. College campuses, with thousands of students, seem daunting and frightening. But, with the Honors Program’s class sizes capped at twenty students, courses will mimic my high school’s, where the teachers know your name, your story, and usually, your family. I will not simply be a number in the professors’ eyes if accepted to the Honors Program.…

As the plan goes, two years at Douglas, two years at UBC one year at BCIT and I would have just enough education to be considered for a Masters of Public Policy degree. In my first year at Douglas college I went on a field school to the Philippines for international business. It wasn’t my designated field but it is essential for political scientists to have a firm grasp of economics. In today’s age, only those with a global knowledge of their associated field succeed. As the saying goes, “follow the money” and it’s easy to find who influences politics.…

According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, diversity is the condition of having or being of different elements. Many times the word diversity is used in terms of people and cultures. This is the case because no two people are alike, and this holds true for cultures as well. Diversity of an individual encompasses three different areas: invariability, variability, and influence. While invariable characteristics of a person tend to remain the same over one’s lifetime, variable characteristics and environmental influences vary throughout a lifetime.…

Before I applied for college, my mom told me that if I got accepted into University of Chicago and another school, I should definitely choose the other one. That is because among the Chinese student society, the University of Chicago kind of has a notorious name. Although it offers one of the best undergraduate programs in this country, it is the environment that people can go into the campus anytime they like. And those would pose threat to students’ safety. Of course, the fact that it is located in Hyde Park-South Kenwood in Chicago which is the third largest city in the United States could, to some extent, justify the situation because due to the report by Chicago police, 228 violent crimes happened in that neighborhood on average between 2008 and 2013.…

Davidson College as my top choice of school because of the variety of programs Davidson offers such as Davidson Military Science(ROTC), a major in Political Science, a pre-professional degree in Pre-Law, a minor in French and Francophone studies, and the possibility to participate in Davidson’s Dean Rusk International Studies program. Attending Davidson through this scholarship will not only benefit me and my posse educational advancement, but impact the college in terms of representation and thoughts that aid in Davidson’s diverse environment. We as posse will have the chance to bring new and creative ideas to the campus which help to not only the confirmation of Davidson College being ranked #9 in the Liberal Arts school in the country, but promote diversity on campus with the differing mental and physical ability each student possesses. Davidson college is my dream school due to the fact that it not only contains an Army ROTC program, which will help and prepare my progress into the military after college, it has my Political Science major and extra- curricular activities such as Patterson Court( Fraternity houses), political organizations where I can express my views of the government and understand the political world, it has Student Government where i intend to run for a leadership position, and most importantly, Davidson College’s Outdoors program…
