I feel like I would be a suitable captain because of my love for cheer. I have lots of ideas and new material I would like to share with the team. I want to be a Link Crew Leader because I would love to be able to mentor freshman as my previous Link Crew Leaders did to me. I also feel that becoming a Link Crew Leader would not only allow me to help shape freshman to become better people but to help me become a better person myself. I have been both a volunteer at a summer program for first and second graders and an assistant coach for the special needs program at Alta Loma Little League. At the summer program I was tasked with teaching 3 classes of first graders to type and code. This leadership position not only taught me how to actively communicate with people who learn in different ways, but also taught me to become a stronger leader.…

When I was appointed as a Varsity Co-Captain for the high school swim team in my freshman year, I was still new to the high school scoring system, which differed from the club meets that I grew up participating in. During this period, I couldn’t help but notice that some swimmers, especially new members, were not getting as much attention in activities and workouts. In high school swim meets, I learned, points are earned based on the order that swimmers finish.…
