I’m Alexandra (Allie) Drew, a current 2nd year nursing and midwifery student. I am applying for the 3rd year nursing second semester 2016 exchange to Malmo University in Sweden. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to apply for this exchange and, in fact, this opportunity is one of the reasons I chose La Trobe University to undertake my degrees. Undertaking placements in the Swedish health care system would give me an insight into other world-leading health care systems other than the Australian model and hopefully this would contribute to making me a more rounded and educated nurse/midwife/academic. I would like to potentially integrate practices from Sweden if their concepts fit in with the Australian nursing systems and
