When the sun disappears, and the days quickly turn to nights, I trade my apron in for a volleyball uniform and spend my eight hour shifts in the classroom. I’ve missed out on a lot of high school things, but it opened up new opportunities like being able to job shadow during my medical terminology class, joining theatre club as well as journalism, and becoming a student worship leader at my youth group. It’s also the reason that I want to be in the medical field, One day I’m going to change the world with my story. Adversity has brought our family closer. We’ve financially struggled with my injuries, but my parents have never made me feel guilty and always do whatever it takes to get me the health care that I need.
