Why would you want someone like me attending your college? Well that is an excellent question; let’s start off with the major I am interested in taking, “Computer engineering”. The reason for the quotes is simply because right now I am at a stage where I am exploring ideas, and comprehending what I actually want to do for my future. I honestly want to attend college to help guide me to the right path. Now what is it that sets me apart from the other applicants to take this major? Well first my dad lost his job since the place he worked at replaced him with someone younger. But thankfully my brother got a job to support the family. I too plan on getting a job during and after college for the exact same reason. I would not be where I am today without them. Another issue that I am currently able to cope with much easier is my asthma. I have a small but significant handle on my health condition now and I can show up to school more often without worrying about the next time I end up out of breath wheezing for long periods of time. Now to address the skills I have to offer to your college, since I want to go into computer engineering I wouldn’t be completely lost in the subject since I already understand all the basics and I would have the certification to back that up. I will definitely be self motivated and use my free time to study the subject so I don’t end up lost in the information and fail the class. I am a person who takes responsibility for my own actions whether it’s good or bad and will try asking for help if understanding the work gets out of my reach. These skills cannot be shown through just text but it can be shown first hand as I continue on with my
