At first listen the song “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” by Irish rock group U2 may appear to be a song written about common things such as god or love. But from further analysis it becomes evident that it is about the loss of a child perhaps through illness or abortion.
This song may appear as though it is written about a lost lover. The singer Bono’s first verse paints a perilous journey all for the sake of being with someone. But in this verse only the landscapes of his journey are illustrated. Through this journey however, he how he still hasn’t found this person he is searching for. Again in the second voice it talks about his experiences in this journey for a loved one but this time people and feelings are narrated. This verse is more lively and personal because it is about him not the world around him. And yet still the chorus enters and he still hasn’t found this lost object. So far the song being about a lost significant other seems plausible but the third verse doesn’t fit into this theory. In the last part of the song, Bono discusses a kingdom in which everyone bleeds into one. He speaks of this person he is looking for bearing his shame along with

Though there are hints of religion in this piece such as a kingdom of heaven, that is not what this piece is primarily about. Searching for god on earth doesn’t make logical sense. Bono also mentions being in connections with the devil, the foe of god. This could represent how he is still searching for god and until he finds him he will be in the grasp of the devil, or how sinning could be considered to be in cahoots with the devil. However it is much more likely that the devil is a symbol for someone who has crossed him. God being the true meaning of the song fits more than a lost lover however it is still not

Throughout my lifetime, there has been moments of laughter as well as grief. But a moment in my life that was pivotal was when I first felt the love of my life, at the moment, fade away slowly from me and sort of detach from our relationship. The song by Christian Nodal- “Adios Amor” showed me how at times when the love fades between partners to the point where there is no love at all, you have to do your best to move on rather than spending time grieving the love that is lost. Therefore, the song “Adios Amor” gave me the tough realization that some relationships are best to let go of if they don’t work as a young adult, and will continue to guide me throughout my life.…

According to an interview by Rolling Stone magazine, Bono the lead singer originally wrote the song for INXS frontman Michael Hutchence a dear friend of his who had committed suicide. Devastated by the tragic news he felt guilty because he did not notice the state his friend was in that led to his death. Bono composed the song speaking in a way he probably wishes he could have said to Michael if he had the chance to talk to him before the unfortunate event. The song starts by trying to cheer up his friend but not succeeding but reminding his friend that it's going to be okay and reminiscing on all the good things in life. Nothing works and although he tries to remind his friend it's going to be okay…

This song talks about the speaker who is abused by her boyfriend but she stands by him because she loves him. This is similar to when we find out that Mayella was abused by her father but still loves him because well, it’s her father. They both show unhealthy relationships and how bad things can be at home. The mood in both of this song and the book is desperate. They are both desperate for love and will do anything to stay by their family/man.…
