Now, I know in my Latin class that if I miss 10 minutes of class time, I miss my opportunity to do the warm up that would count as a quiz grade in the future. If you have a test in a class, though, and you miss the first 10-15 minutes of class time, that was time that you could’ve used to take the test. Instead, you’d have to wait in line to get your name on the hall sweep list during that 10-15 minutes. Hall sweeps waist valuable time. My Ideal Block Experience

I love the concept of the Block schedule because students and faculty work closely to immerse themselves in material that other schools would complete over a full semester. This opportunity will help me with time management and concentration, which will prepare me for the most rigorous courses in future. This schedule preserves plenty of free time, which is important because I will be able to develop my character by participating in organizations and pushing myself to come out of my comfort zone. Moreover, in my ideal block experience, I would make genuinely close friends who understand where I come from and accept me for who I am.…

Often times, the question is asked, “How does learning this help me? What can I possibly do with this?” The answer, while not necessarily concrete, is simple: Our knowledge is cumulative, and it prepares us for tomorrow by helping us learn how to learn and understand, even if its not a related topic A question that has been asked before, and likely will be proposed many times in the future, is: “Does what I learn today build upon what I learned yesterday?” The answer to that question is yes, it most certainly does build upon it.
