Why I Should Be Considered As A National Honor Society Member

As I write the reason why I should be considered or labeled as a National Honor Society member, I would like to start to define what a “Pillar” is, according to the article published on July 11, 2023 by Aerialm BVI: “The Pillars of life are foundational areas of aspects of one’s life, each of which plays a critical role in personal development.” In my few developmental years as a Junior in high school, I must say that character is developed by a set of principles, ethical standards, and moral qualities. In other words, do the right thing always, as I have been doing since I started school. I have learned to know what is right and wrong through normal observations and paying attention to others. I could have chosen to take regular classes and taken the easy way out. However, I selected to take AP and dual …show more content…
The pillar of service is what I possess most of since it was inculcated by my father as he served in the military for more than 30 years. He has always inculcated that we need to serve our country and serve to a greater good than ourselves and assist others. I started volunteering this past summer at the Brownsville Museum and school activities promoting support for our athletes. This is an area where there are unlimited possibilities in serving for greater good, but I will concentrate my efforts within my school to make a positive impact in my community. The pillar of scholarship is perhaps not all inclusive as the other pillars. I believe that with the right character, service, and great leadership skills we all can obtain tangible and financially help to earn good and substantial scholarships to complete a higher educational degree goal. As I mentioned at the beginning of this paper, the learning and developing of a strong character, a good sense of service, and superb leadership skills is in the infant stages of my life.
