One of the most frequent questions I get asked is “Why do you want to be a teacher? They don’t make that much money.” Sometimes I ask myself the same question then I can think of a million reasons to be a teacher. Being able to help people and make a difference in someone’s life is what I have always dreamed of doing. I knew I wanted to be a teacher starting at a young age when I would go to school all day, then go home and play fake school with my sister every day. I was always wanting to help her learn and motivate her to do better, and that’s when I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life being a teacher no matter what the pay because in the end that’s not what it is all about. I want to be a positive influence in children’s lives and motivate them to do their best and be the best person they can be. A school is a place where you go and you find yourself and figure out who you are going to be in life. Without having motivating teacher’s, it is hard for kids to do that. Children need to be encouraged and need to know that someone is always going to be there to help them. I believe that teachers should be enthusiastic about their children in the classroom because when they see you being positive and having a positive learning environment it makes them want to learn more. Knowing they have someone to look up to and are able to talk to easily make them more eager to learn. I want to teach small children, particularly kindergarten or first grade. I was the oldest…
