Why I M Passionate

Improved Essays
There are plenty of causes I’m passionate about. Some of the issues that I would like to see fixed and even be art of the solution are the current state of our political system, the holes in the foster care system, and student debt. Feeling strongly about things influences who my friends are, where I choose to eat, my career path, who I’ll vote for, what kind of life I want to live, etc. My views on the world around me defines who I am and who I will become. Advocacy, even in a small scale, can make a difference. Being vocal about issues we’re passionate about may lead other people around us to also feel passionate about them, causing a positive change.

Munson uses the Pro life movement to explain his case that most people do not join movements because they have a general belief or idea about the issue, Munson believes that people initially join social movements for other reason, besides them caring about the issue.…

Ethan Hackney Professor Aguailar ENGL V01A October 5, 2017 ENGL V01A Midterm NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s decision to kneel during the National Anthem to protest the mistreatment of African Americans has generated a good deal of controversy: some claim that the act of kneeling is a sign of disrespect and feel that Colin is not only insulting America, but also insulting the many soldiers who have died for this country, on the other hand many believe that Kaepernick’s kneel was not only a proper form of Non-violent protest, but actually a sign of reverence rather than disrespect. More NFL players have copied Kaepernick’s example in the last year, and emotions have run high on both sides of the issue, even generating a response from President…

Small Groups, Big Impact Have you ever felt like the odds were against you? Like there were no hopes in fixing a global issue because you were only one person? From the essay “How to Melt the Arctic,” written by John Bocknek, he says, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” The author enforces that no matter the problem, a person or a group of people can change a global issue. In today’s society, people underestimate the impact that they have if they work by themselves or even in an organization.…

An issue that would cause myself to start a petition is the topic of ocean dumping. Ocean dumping consists of toxic waste being dropped into the ocean and this would cause for a lot of changes to be made. To start this, it would begin by starting to clear areas of the ocean that have been overfilled with waste as this has a direct impact onto the ocean and its inhabitants.…
