Why I Love To Be A Badger

UW Madison has always been my dream school. I feel so at home as soon as I pass the “Welcome to Madison” sign on John Nolan Drive. My Aunt Pam is an alumni and I’ve also watched my Brother progress from his move in day to becoming a T.A, working on his Thesis. Having attended the UW Madison tour recently, it’s taken me back to the times I’ve spent on campus with my family, showing me many of the experiences I have to look forward to as a Badger. My experiences in Madison show me that I this is the place that I can expand my community and education Involvement.
The sociology program at UW Madison is another reason why I’d love to be a Badger. On the tour I learned that the sociology program is ranked as one of the top programs in the Nation,

James Madison College has always been a school I have thought highly of. The school and I, both offer something to the other. I think that as a student I would contribute plenty to the school in my participation and enthusiastic attitude towards clubs, athletics, and education. I plan to attend and earn a degree in business and marketing. This school in my opinion, is well capable of providing the useful education I am looking for.…

By being a well-rounded student through my diverse involvements at Xavier, I inspire others to get out of their comfort zone and branch out and try new things. As a freshman from Nairobi, Kenya, I experienced culture shock which made me isolate myself from the Xavier community since adjusting to a new environment, weather, education system, food, and culture was difficult for me. As soon as I decided to get involved in my second semester at Xavier, I began getting the full Xavier experience that is always advertised as I formed relationships with people who would later positively impact my life. My decision to get involved has opened my eyes to many opportunities and has led me to win prestigious scholarship awards at Xavier such as the 2016 Antonio Johnson scholarship and receive the 2016 Diversity and Inclusion recognition award for my efforts to create a campus culture of diversity and inclusion.…

When I visited George Washington my sophomore year of high school, I instantly knew that your school is where I wanted to go for college. It just wasn't like any of the other colleges that I had seen before, and for that matter it was unlike any I have seen since. I saw that GW is in a beautiful location and that its presence in the capitol greatly enhances both its value and the city’s around it. I really liked walking around the campus, as it was extremely vibrant. I saw that safety is also important, and the combination of security that holds jurisdiction in this area is extremely reassuring.…

“The streets are paved in sunshine.” This was the first statement I heard upon arriving at Stanford University. The woman who said those six words that caught me completely off guard approached me with a California-aged smile, casual and relaxed, and welcomed me with open arms. She introduced herself as an alumni of the university and proceeded to tell me about the great experiences she had as a student and the memories she created with her best friends in her “prime time”. As she rambled on, I realized that she said nothing about the stellar academics, the esteemed professors, or the endless professional opportunities offered at the University.…

I would first like to thank Frostburg State University for accepting me in their institution and giving me the chance to further my education after my high school scholar years. I have enjoyed my time at Frostburg State University and with hard work I have been able to make the dean’s list and be accepted in the Honors program during the first semester of my freshman year. I hope to continue to work even harder during the second semester and throughout my school career. As a small university, Frostburg has enabled me to benefit from many things, such as the small size classes. Now that I have gotten used to college and life on campus, I believe it is time to continue to push myself to work harder and to attend an institution where I could be academically challenged and can be surrounded by many people who share my profession.…

After a long year, I finally was back at La Semana, a week long adoption camp for kids from Latin American countries. After the joyous reunion hugs and hellos, I headed off to my classroom that I would be helping in. Glancing out the window I instantly knew that it was one of those picture perfect days. The sun already shining, and a cool breeze just strong enough to lightly brush through my hair. Back in the classroom however, the temperature was not so pleasant.…

In my drawing, I am portraying the scene where Ben is lost in the rain and hides in the badger hole. The badger also comes into the hole to find shelter, where she sleeps with the boy. In my picture, the badger is trying to comfort Ben, in what looks like a very scary scene with rain, darkness, and lightning. This is an important scene because it sparks the mother son relationship that the badger and Ben come to have. This scene brings the origin of Ben’s transformation, along with the badger who keeps Ben alive.…

There are many justifications as to why I decided to attend American Public University (APUS). The three main reasons: I want to be an encouragement to my children, I want a solid career foundation, plus enhancing my education will also help me to improve my own self-assurance. Establishing a positive atmosphere, and being an example of encouragement for my children is the most significant reason for my decision to attend American Public University. I know it will be a challenge, but I want my children to understand that it is easier to struggle to further your education, than it is to struggle enduring poverty from lack of a degree. American Public University can help me to realize my dreams of being an inspiration to my children.…

“I have to go here, dad. I just have to,” I told my father during our first tour of Colorado Mesa University’s campus. “I already feel like a Maverick,” I admitted as I straightened out my new CMU ball cap from the campus bookstore. It was a strange feeling knowing that I would no longer be Lakeland High School’s most spirited student, but there was excitement in knowing that I would soon show my pride for Colorado Mesa. Images of my blue and white spirit wear quickly changed to be maroon and gold.…

I think this is especially beneficial on a large campus with people from around the world and multiple backgrounds. I have learned to be accepting of everyone and never make assumptions about anybody. This will help my Wisconsin Experience through compassion, being able to understand a person, and be cautious of other’s backgrounds and cultures. When I was little, I wanted to be a chemist. I imagined myself in the lab coat and with goggles on, carefully pouring electric blue liquids and jade green foam back and forth into various containers, until something had exploded and I had discovered the best way to make flowers the size of people. As I grew up, I lost this fantasy, but I gained more knowledge on how I wanted to influence the world. Funnily enough, I discovered what I really wanted to do when I started working at Chick-fil-A during the summer before my sophomore year. All of my friends had warned me against working in fast food, quoting horrible smells and ridiculous customers and tons of grease.…
