Through high school soccer, I have met many different people from all different ethnic and economic backgrounds. I have also attended Texas A&M soccer camp five years in a row, which has allowed me to meet people from all over the country. No matter who I meet, we always share one thing: The love of playing soccer. That passion is the one thing that matters the most. Nobody on the field cares who you are or where you came from. Many people think that soccer is easy because there is no smashing into other players like in football or shooting a ball into an 18” hoop like in basketball. What those people may not understand is soccer requires skills and techniques in order to be an effective player. I have learned that the only way to be better is to practice. This is why I play, train, and practice about fifteen hours of soccer each week. I did not actually start playing competitive soccer until I was 12. Many of my teammates had been playing since they were 4 years old, so I had to put in even more work to be able to catch up to the rest of the players. With the amount of work that I put in, I was able to meet or surpass all of the others my age. I learned quickly that a strong work ethic pays
