I'm walking along a worn path along a stream, carrying a camera. I look for thing to take a picture of. I look up at the Tug Hill and see the beautiful colors of the fall. Photography is interesting, and the camera with the right setting you capture interesting images. They can have cool coloring. And things that you don't see with your eye alone. For example you see a red sunset in a picture, however from the eye alone you see a light orange or just the sun. I like photography and taking pictures of new things. When I go somewhere new I will most generally take my camera with me. Learning new techniques is fun. One that I am currently learning how to take is HDR photography. That will bring out lights, mediums, and that darks of an image. This is a new technique that has come out fairly recently. I have seen some images and they look beautiful. I want to learn how to do it and also make my own skills better. Willingness to learn new things from other people is an important asset to me. If I were walk the same exact path once everyday I would never be bored. I would see changes in the weather, foliage, and in the winter the snow covered trees and hills. There would always be birds singing and to take pictures of, and squirrels. They would be playing in the trees throughout the seasons and different birds as they migrate and move south and north. I could always find a pond or stream to take pictures of when the light hits it funky. I could find a spot where I could see across the valley and in the fall get all of the color. It would be fun to also see the colors across the valleys. And in the morning to see the Fog rising from the Black River. It looks as if a cloud is rising from that river. When it comes to the correlation between the beauty of nature and the consciousness of man, John Muir states, “In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” It’s interesting to notice that a simple walk can encourage a man to be inspired by the beauty that nature offers. From seeing nature through the point of an essay and seeing nature through the point of a poem, John Muir, and William Wordsworth created two different pieces that express their connection between man and nature. With the use of tone, imagery and diction, John Muir's essay, Calypso Borealis and William Wordsworth's poem, I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud, were both able to express the authors' relationships with nature.…

Unlike most kids, my vacations consisted of visiting national and state parks. From climbing the stairs at the tallest cascading waterfall in the southeast, Amicalola Falls State Park in Georgia, to collecting all the Junior Ranger badges at each park we stopped at, I have fond memories of these trips. I guess the thing I remember most was taking in the glorious surroundings. Not only was it a pretty thing to look at – the canyons, mountains, waterfalls, forests, etc. – but it gave me comfort and made me appreciate nature and our beautiful Earth. Two authors that would relate to this feeling would be John Muir and William Wordsworth.…

Twenty years I had lived on the moor, and I had discovered many things. The moors were full of secrets – legends you wouldn’t believe unless you had seen them with your own eyes. Stories about rude fairies under bridges (not trolls, which is a common mistake people have made) and tales about sieges against dragons on the crest of a lone-hill. When I was younger, I would creep to the entrance of the Dartmoor forest, where an old, stone bridge stood. It was one of my favourite spots and was beautiful, especially in spring time.…
