Why I Love Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

For a very long time my interest had been in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). If you have

probably never heard of BJJ before, let me explain what that mean. It does mean the most BJJ is

part of a Martial Art base in ground fighting that developing environment and gradually excels

their ability to use grappling.(1) My best friend, Mark Bermudez wanted me to watch the

Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) cage fighters in 2010. Unlike WWE this is not staged

fighting, but in opponents are actually physically fighting. I was hooked. I decided to follow my

dream. On April 28, 2013 I started to search on the internet for where was the place exactly in

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Then I headed South on I-77, exited at Granger Road and soon

arrived at Strong Style Mixed Martial Arts. I walked into the gym. It seemed like weight-lifting

room to the left, locker room to corner right, two boxing rings on either side, with the heavy

punching bags leaning against the wall, and two fight cages to the right. I saw professional and

very famous fighters Stipe Miocic, Brain Rogers, and Jessica Eye training. Then and there I

decided to learn BJJ so I could improve my self-confidence, develop good self-defense skills,

increase my physical strength, and eventually become a professional BJJ competitor.

At first, I had no self-confidence. The awkward moment that first day of class, when I
