The connections I made in the story was that the forces of radical though versus nonradical thought. My least favorite character is John Butler, I think it is completely unreasonable to deny someone a haircut because it is a white man's haircut. My most favorite character would most likely be John's wife because she tries to reason with him and make him change his mind but he still refuses to listen. I thought the plot was very interesting, it reminded me of a book I read in high school called To Kill A Mocking Bird. I think this because they both dealt with racial tensions. I did not have trouble understanding this story it was not difficult to read or understand. I didn't like the main character John Butler, which was a bummer since I usually try to relate to the main character of stories and it was especially hard in this story. The literary lenses that best fit would be postcolonial criticism and ethnic
