15 March 2003 was the greatest day of my life when my parents and I migrated to U.S.A from

India. Like many other immigrants around the world, this was a dream come true for me and my family.

However, after a year, I decided to join the U.S Navy to enhance and accelerate my life. I was a Hospital

Man Corpsman in the Navy and had the best job in the world. During my eight years in the Navy

medicine, I took care of thousands of Marines and sailors around the globe in regard to their basic

health. I also worked in various laboratories and departments in the hospital but it was always the

interaction and caring of the wounded Marines and sailors that gave me the utmost joy in my job. I can

never forget the day of March 2007, when I volunteered

After serving for eight years, I left the military to pursue that passion and I have never looked

Honestly, I have to admit that transitioning from the military into civilian life after eight was not

a very smooth one. My first Fall semester in 2012 was not a steady one. I overloaded myself with too

many science classes for which I felt the burden later as I progressed through my semester. But later, as

time passed, I took a grip on myself and started doing better gradually. In the spring of 2015, my name

was finally added to the Dean List. My biggest accomplishment in the campus was co- founding a club

called "Siksha-Educating Kids in India" after making a trip to rural areas in India. After traveling to

various rural schools in India, my friend and I decided to open a club here at SUU to raise awareness and

financially help those students whose family couldn't afford a better education for their children. I am

very proud to say that our club has been up standing for three years now since it opened in 2013, and

we have financially helped more than 40 students so far with full tuition scholarship. Every year our club

For my work in a foreign country, I was also awarded the first prize for my EDGE project

in 2014.

My medical experience in the Navy and my passion for making a difference in other people's life

through health care is what motivates me to work harder and I truly believe that through the SUU

nursing program, I can achieve much more greatness. In the future, not only would I like to pursue

higher nursing programs but I would also like to make a difference in my community and around the

world through healthcare. Just as I opened a club at SUU and made an impact globally, I would like to do

the same through SUU nursing program. My objective would be to start a "program “in which various

doctors, nurses, educators and students can come together and input their expertise to make a

difference in the community and around the world. Through the program, the medical professionals and

students would travel every year to different parts of the world to provide healthcare to the

underprivileged. I believe that through hard work and determination and getting accepted at the SUU

Nursing program, I can achieve my aspiration for the future and make a difference in my community as

well as around the

My experiences, academic background and personality are three key aspects of my life that make the medical field a preference and a particularly suitable field for me. My interest in medicine was first sparked when I volunteered at CentraState Medical Center working with geriatric patients. To further explore this interest, I joined the First Aid Squad in my town. Riding on ambulances and volunteering at the squad provided much-needed insight into the field and taught me valuable skills, such as patient care and effective communication. After completing a four-month intensive EMT course and state exam, I can proudly say that I am now a New Jersey certified EMT.…

My Personal Goal Statement Every day I wake up, I ask myself how I can make a difference. This question has helped shape my personal values and principles and directed my path into the nursing field.
