That probably sounds very contradictory, and I would understand if you are now confused. Its a lot like vegetables. Most people hate them, but veggies are good for you, so they eat them anyway. Which is true, as there is always time. However, time and a will are completely different. If I lived in Florida or California, I wouldn't mind running everyday. Iowa is another story entirely. Four months out of the year it is a frigid frozen land where only the die hard runner go. I, alas, am not a die hard runner. So I run the other 8 with a decent attitude. I have the pleasure of being part of the Oskaloosa High School Cross Country team, which gives me a place to run for 5 months out of my eight, which is very nice. Running is a great way to burn off stress. Running is a lot like venting, just without annoying everyone around you. During cross country season, I am much more relaxed and my grades are in the green. As the season winds down and the weather gets less friendly, the number of time I wish to go outside goes down, and my stress levels go up. Both of my parents know this, and they encourage me to run. They have on multiple occasion kicked me out of the house and made me go run. Me choosing to run and me being forced to run have a distinctly different result. As I have stated, I hate running. So if someone makes me go run, I am not going to be getting less stressed. In fact, after being forced to run, I feel more stressed. If I choose to run, it is relaxing as I don't have anything particular on my mind and can choose what I want to think about. Running is a very fickle thing, as one way it builds
