Why I Hate English Subject

When it comes to writing, I should begin by saying that it is not my favorite subject. I am more of a math or science person, give me equations or graphs any day over papers and essays. Now although I feel this way, I would like to think of myself as a decent writer. I have always done well in my English classes and on my papers and essays for those classes, but doing something well and enjoying it while you are doing it is two different things. I would not say that I hate English and writing- that is too strong of a word- I would just say that it is not what I would prefer to do. It’s not your fault or my previous teachers fault, it’s just the way things are now. So when you ask me what my hopes and goals for this class are, I only have one thing that comes to mind. I hope that I can once again find my compassion for writing and with that, improve my writing skills. You can help me with this by simply teaching me all that you have to offer. I am already starting to like this class because as I have sat here and wrote this paper, I haven’t had the urge to sling my laptop. In this writing this paper you have given me the opportunity to express my views on writing and share my past experiences of writing, which in a way is telling a story. I guess if there is one thing that I would like for you to know, it would be that I would really love to master grammar skills. Commas are my worst enemy and I know that since I am a senior in high school I should have them mastered, but I really haven’t had a teacher explain or teach them in a way that has stuck. I look forward to having a wonderful year with you and our class and I can’t wait to see what this class has in store for
