A reason why I would want to go to college would because it would help get me to places I want to be in life such as helping me get a good paying job or th position I would want. Another reason why I want to go to college would also be because I want to see what it is like to attend a college and at least try it out. While in college I hope to work part time to earn some sort of income as well but if I am going to be working it is only going to be a short term job till I earn the degree I would need and land a job as either a preschool or daycare assistant. In the summer you can find me busing tables and answering to the hangry tourists that dine at Bar Harbor Restaurant. Eight hour shifts, seven days a week, but on the occasional slow days I’d get to cut out early so my summers are still filled with adventure. Hiking uphill through the thick brush to reach the peak of Dude Mountain, where the ground meets the watercolor skies. Biking through the overpopulated wooden docks downtown, points for pedestrians (just kidding). From fishing to jumping off the docks, to camping beneath the starry skies with friends, nothing beats Alaskan Summers.…
The reason I would like to attend college is to help inspire others, the reason being: I have lived with Cerebral Palsy all my life. I want to show others that if I can get through college with CP, they can too. My career choice is Civil Engineering since I was a kid I loved structures and how they are build. My personal goals are to complete my degree, get my Professional Engineers registry, and one day to own my firm. The circumstances I have over came to get to this point, in all honesty could write a book.…

The choice to attend college may be one of the largest decisions of an American young adult’s life. There are many factors to consider as well as influences that may change this decision depending on the individual and their background. Contrary to popular belief attending college in the United States is definitely not a universal norm, but rather a relative one. Structure and agency are integral in anyone’s decision to attend college, but in my own experience agency prevailed.…
