Comparison And Contrast Essay: Dorm Vs. My Home

Improved Essays
Living In a dorm has been a big transition from living at my parent 's house. There are some things that I like and things I don 't like at both places. From the people I live with, to the rules, I have to follow. Both my dorm and my house have their pros and cons.
If there is one thing I hate the most, it 's being in dirty places. Well in the dorm, it 's very dirty. It 's not just the messes every once and a while in the hallway, but the dirt no one sees. Like how dirty the bathrooms are. The stalls always look sticky and the showers have bugs flying around in it. I take quick showers because I don 't like being in there. On the other hand at my house back home in Indianapolis, is always clean. The shower at my house is one of my favorite places to be, I can be in there forever. I 'm also not afraid to sit down on the toilet. I like my house better because it 's just overall cleaner.

I can 't leave the house past 11:30 pm and it just seems like my freedom is taken away there. I have to do choir at my house, but I 'm usually too busy with work so I don 't really do them that much. At the dorm, I have to do my choirs or I won 't have any clothes. My dorm room would be a mess too, but I pick up after myself there. Also I don 't have a time I have to be in at the dorm, I can come and go as I please. This is good when I 'm hanging out with friends, or need to go on a night walk because I can 't sleep. The only person I have to answer to is the r.a, but not a lot because it 's usually if someone did something wrong. I am basically my own boss and on my own at the dorm, and I love

The co-ed dorms did not have co-ed rooms but they had unlimited visiting hours. Some concern arose about there being more sex or academics being less important but those concerns didn’t arise.…

My career choice is that I will stay in Prince George's Community College to receive my associates degree then transfer to a 4-year college rather than transferring early to a 4-year college. It may seem like the same concept but there are differences between these two and some similarities as well. The biggest difference between a community college and a university is the tuition. Community college is much cheaper than a four-year college. Community college is about 3,000-4,000 dollars for two semesters compared to a four-year college where tuition is roughly about 9,000-10,000 dollars.…
