I believe deserve and award because I come from a single parent family and do my best to not let low income interfere with my schooling. Another reason is because when I went to Auto/Diesel trade school, my classmates weren’t very respectable, therefore my professors couldn’t give the few who wanted to learn the knowledge he was there to present all the time. With that said, it was mainly up the individual to take learning into their own hands. During my first year, my teacher noticed my skills and saw lots of potential in, which made me eligible to participate in the Skills USA competition. Say the least, I finished with a gold medal in the state of New Jersey, making me further eligible for competing in Skills USA nationals competition. Unfortunately I didn’t place very high there, however it was then that showed me what the diesel industry was all about. Toward the end of my second year of the Auto/Diesel program I decided to tour two colleges, OTC and UNOH. One reason was to further my education and secondly, they both offered me a 10 thousand dollar scholarship. While on the side start my own business in the off road industry and have it slowly grow this way when it's time to “retire” I have something to fall back on. I plan on going to Hobart Welding institute this way I can tie up all my education and fill in those tiny empty spaces in my life-long dream. While attending the Hobart Welding Institute I plan on finding a job in the welding industry in order to learn even more considering its more of a hands on program and in my spare time continue studying for the mechanical industry.
