Why I Chose To Participate In The ITAP Program

I would like to participate in the ITAP program for a variety of reasons. First reason is the skills I will be able to attain from this program. Living in the modern age where technology is ubiquitous it is almost a requirement for one to have at least basic level of skills in using technology. Second reason is the networking capability with the other five schools. Getting to travel and meeting others schools and having the ability to hold conversation with merit about technology and how to approve it would be just a remarkable experience that doesn’t come very often. Third reason is to diversify myself as an individual. Being a political science and philosophy double major I mostly deal with governmental and moral issues rather the more direct and practical issues like a frozen computers or having a bug. However, though technology doesn’t seem like it has direct correlation to political science and philosophy in the modern age, governments are tech …show more content…
First skill I will like to gain is how to work a computer in a more detailed and specific way. Knowing how and what to do at all time rather than just asking for help. For example, being able to make an exceptional resume putting only what I need in order to get the job I want to obtain. Second skill I would like to hopefully gain is the ability to converse with others what I learn and contribute in a more profound way. I can also implement this ability to outside of the ITAP program like in my classes were we discuss and debate about many controversial topics, and being able to articulate in way that I would do in the ITAP program would be outstanding. The third and final thing I would like to obtain is the experience of the ITAP program in of itself. Having the opportunity to learn under real professional has no equal in terms of value because I would able to have a glimpse of what it is like in the real world and how profession deal and resolves
