Why I Chose To Become A Social Worker

I chose to study Health and Social Care because I am interested in becoming a social worker. I feel like I can help people families and individual with their problems and empower them find the right track. I know that being a social worker involves visiting families and listening to them and being able to advise them which can alleviate their problems. I also know that I will have to maintain a professional relationship, but I also know need to act like a friend who they can trust. I think by studying this course I can go to university studying social care gaining more knowledge to help me become a social worker. I think this course will be very beneficial to me as it will help me to gain the right skills and knowledge to work as a social worker. …show more content…
I am organised with my work and I do a lot of revising outside of college. I have already gained 5 C’s and above in my GCSE’s which I worked very hard for. Sometimes, my friends will come to me with their problems and I will help them sort out. This led me to have an interest of wanting to help others as I help my friends. I watched TV programmes about social workers and have done my own research which has taught me that social workers are portrayed as people who help children and improve their lives. I want to become an admirable social worker. My strengths I think would be is that I can complete written work in great detail. I am a good listener, because many people have confided their secrets and problems to me, which is important when working with service users because they need someone to listen to them and know someone is available if they have a problem. I am generally quiet, though I do engage in topics that interest me. I mostly like working on challenges and projects independently, unless it requires teamwork, which I am happy to do as
