Why I Chose To Become A Lynx Leader

Decent Essays
I decided to apply to become a lynx leader this year because I’ve actually wanted to since last year. For some reason, I was too nervous to apply because I was worried I wouldn't be chosen. This year, I decided that I wouldn’t allow that to get in my way because this is something that I want. The entire reason I’m applying is because I enjoy being able to be involved in something and help in whatever ways possible. I’m very responsible, motivated, and I follow directions well. I think that is reflected in my grades and conduct.

This lead me to volunteer at my church with kids, tutor kids, and begin the application process with Big Brothers Big Sisters, an organization with which I will meet once a week with a kid at an elementary school near my college to mentor him, because he has been deemed in need of a mentor because of some sort of hardship in his life. My passion for music lead me to play trombone and marching baritone in band, both concert and marching, at the high school level.
