Why I Chose Studio Production

Improved Essays
I am currently undecided on a major, however, I have a strong set of ideas that will help me choose which field I would want to pursue. The majors I am considering are music, studio production, film, photography, and new media. Music has always been a passion of mine from a performer’s standpoint as well as a listener’s. As a musician, I am very interested to continue playing and studying throughout college. Also, making music with my friends and recording music on my computer has influenced my creativity in a number of ways which is why I am interested in studio production. I can be described as a film enthusiast because I have always dreamed of working with movies which is why I believe I could attempt a major in film. Photography is a hobby

“If I were Shannon Miller this would not happen,” I often thought as I positioned my body onto the bar. I hated heights and even being a few feet in the air on the highest uneven bar unsettled me. It seemed as if I were on the peak of a mountain top and my oxygen supply was thinning out. Each exhale made me dizzier and before you know it, I would be climbing down in a hurry, anxious to see my score even though I knew it would be low. I hated the fear I felt about practicing on the bars and how I believed that I would end up like my older teammate Chanel, who recently had surgery on both of her knees due to an awful fall in the last competition.…

In order to explain the reason of why I want to attend the Musicians Institute’s Bachelor Program, I would need explain a bit about myself first. You see, when I was young, I've never really had friends or anyone to really talk to, and because of this, I spent most of my childhood alone. Due to the position I was at, I tried to fill in the missing void by wandering inside my imagination, so naturally for most of my time I would be day dreaming. One day I was driving with my parents to school and a certain song came on, and while that song was playing, my imagination went out of control involuntary to the music and started to create a story based off of the song I was listening to, not only that, it also made me feel some type of emotion, if I recall correctly, the emotion that I felt was, happiness. After that moment, I began hearing more songs from a variety of different bands and artists, and the more songs that I began to hear and like, the more my imagination…

Music is my passion, I appreciate all music genres, but I favour country music. I enjoy the simplistic instrumentation as well as the timbre of country vocalists combined with the minimalist dynamic effects and sound processing that is applied to recordings, providing country music with a natural and raw sound, which I hope to replicate in the music I create throughout my studies and career. I hope to have a career in the music industry, and studying for a degree in music production is the most beneficial way to learn how to compete in this thriving industry. I want to become a successful recording artist, mixing and producing my own music, alternatively working as a record producer or studio manager, which will allow me to express my creativity whilst working alongside other musicians.…

Answer: Before taking Humanities 210, I would have described my philosophies as determinism and idealism. “Determinism is the philosophical proposition that every event, decision, and action, is casually determined by an unbroken chain of prior occurrences” (Mastin para. 1). I was very focused on the idea that individual ideas were predetermined and that they were meant to be. With idealism, I truly did believe that my thoughts were formed due to my reality. My conscious choice of these philosophies was due to my environment, I had no previous experience studying philosophy.…

The film industry has always been such a monumental part of my life, it is a unique part of society. During the daily lives of people they are taught that emotion is wrong to show, it means you are weak. Though this teaching is very inapt the industry teaches us that showing emotion (loving, hating, desiring, ect.) is what makes us human. People spend years of their lives doing a mind numbing job that just gets them through life. With television, movies or on the stage you do something that changes the people who are watching in tremendous ways.…
