Why I Chose Illinois State University Essay

It seems like high school is flying by, so it’s time for me to start thinking about college. I have limited my options down to two colleges and one career. My two colleges are Illinois State University and Western Illinois University. There are reasons why I have chosen those colleges. My career that I am thinking about entering is DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration). I have been wanting to do this job ever since my dad has joined the DEA I have more reasons also about joining DEA. There are a wide variety of things to do at Illinois State University. Students like to go out and have lunch at a nearby restaurant and converse with friends. Teachers at Illinois State University go out of there way to give you a well taught and wonderful education to fit your needs. Illinois State University has many top majors that may fit students needs. Criminal Justice is one of the top majors at Illinois State University (“Majors”).
Students in the Department of Criminal Justice develop a knowledge base for an in-depth understanding of human behavior and the kinds of problems and circumstances that often result in criminality. The Criminal Justice program provides students with the opportunity to gain necessary skills in the areas of interviewing, program development, community organization, planning and research to function in a professional position in the field of Criminal Justice (“Department of Criminal Justice”).
Just like every other college, Illinois State University has college requirements. Illinois State University is an easier college to get into in comparison to many other Universities. To be accepted at Illinois State University you have to have a minimum GPA of 2.4 throughout high school.
