In my earlier years, I went through school, graduated high school, and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I couldn’t pick, there was so much to choose from. I was terrified of failing at any career I found interesting. That is what held me back. I had thought about just going to work after I graduated and skipping college until I figured out what I wanted to do. My parents encouraged me to go to college and at least get some required classes for almost any degree out of the way. I went to Lakeland Community College and ended up graduated with my Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. It was an amazing accomplishment for me. Unfortunately, I was still undecided about what I wanted to do. I went back to Lakeland and took a career exploration class. The class taught me so much about myself, and I was able to decide the career path I wanted to take. …show more content…
It was a hard decision for me, I didn’t know what was going to be right for me. I went back to school and got a 4 year degree and found a job at a preschool. Seeing the looks on all of my preschoolers’ faces every morning was so amazing. I was able to watch these kids grow and learn more and more every day. I loved working with these children so much, that I ended up going to school again to become a special education preschool teacher. It was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done in my life. I loved being a preschool teacher so much that it was the only thing I ever wanted to do. From my many years of work experience, I learned many things. I learned to believe in myself and that if I worked hard, I could be great and whatever I was doing. Another is patience. Patience is a key to being able to live a fulfilling life. Not everyone sees and understands things the same way you do, and you must be able to be tolerant to whatever actions, feelings, or words they

Growing up I never had a clear idea of what I wanted to do as a profession. No inclination of something that amazed me or pushed me toward it. I eventually chose what I thought would be a good stable career simply because it would be a financially good choice but it never seemed like something I could stick with or love. I discounted anything from the medical field because everyone was going there and I didn't want to be a lost number of people rushing to the same career, I wanted to be a little different.…

In the summer you can find me busing tables and answering to the hangry tourists that dine at Bar Harbor Restaurant. Eight hour shifts, seven days a week, but on the occasional slow days I’d get to cut out early so my summers are still filled with adventure. Hiking uphill through the thick brush to reach the peak of Dude Mountain, where the ground meets the watercolor skies. Biking through the overpopulated wooden docks downtown, points for pedestrians (just kidding). From fishing to jumping off the docks, to camping beneath the starry skies with friends, nothing beats Alaskan Summers.…
