Why I Chose Cosmetology

I want to attend Sno-Isle TECH for Cosmetology to start forming a solid foundation for a career in cosmetology. Ever since I was younger, cosmetology and beauty have sparked my interest. Being raised in a home with all female care-givers, I was intrigued by the vanity and self-care they would provide themselves. From freshly bleached hair to acrylic nails, I've seen a lot of different styles walkthrough the doors of my house. As I matured, I wanted to experiment and starting doing my own hair. In fifth grade, I bought a bottle of red hair dye and toner and placed in directly on near black hair thinking it would magically lighten and alter the color completely, but was shocked to find out that was wrong. I had even went blonde for a month, dyed it black, then bleached it back to blond a month later. Of course this led to several intensive months of deep conditioning and cold showers and I didn't want to ruin my hair any further than the extensive damage had already done. To say the least, I have had many hands on experiences with hair and I've come to the conclusion that I want to pursue a solid relationship with beauty and self-care myself. Because of that, I want to place myself in a stimulating environment that engages me and lends me the opportunities that I have been looking for to educate me and form a base for a career beauty field. My biggest life goal and I aspire towards most is to find something I would enjoy while being comfortable doing for the rest of my life. That goal would definitely be accomplished if I went into the cosmetology field. I absolutely love working with and pampering people, along with the admiration I have for being able to help people achieve the appearance they've been looking for. Not only would Sno-Isle TECH help me build a solid base and introduce me to the curriculum that cosmetology courses have to offer, but I already feel welcome and at home
