My senior year of high school, I had the possibility to choose between Pima Community College and The University of Arizona. You now know where I choose to go but at the time I having a very hard time choosing and I believe that was because I had no idea what I wanted to do in life. However, I based my decision just on that. The primary goal of community colleges is to prepare student for four year college and university. The reason why student go to community college is because they don't have the education they need for a four year university yet. They also go to a community college because is cheaper than a four year college. Student also go because it really close to home. I also believe that the community college prepare the students who weren't good in high school to learn to process college level work.…
Brooklyn College is a senior college of the City University of New York, which was conventional in 1930 by the New York City Board of Higher Education. The campus is known for its abundant beauty, and which is often considered as “the poor man’s Harvard” because of its low tuition and reputation for academic excellence. I am currently attending Brooklyn College; my major is biology and planning to do minor in psychology. I had no plan of coming to Brooklyn College, but suddenly I came to meet my friend and saw the campus of Brooklyn College first time. I found it very attention-grabbing because well-stocked library system with a gorgeous interior, top technology, and convenient inter-library loan system and full of good places to study…
Community college is different from CSU and UC schools by being smaller , so its easier to get around, and its cheaper, so you could save money. Another reason is because it gives people hope that they could continue their…
There are copious benefits due to America’s College Promise Act. Community college’s offer education to every type of student, especially those who are working full time, need remedial courses and have families. Community colleges are often viewed as welcoming to students who have been out of school for a number of years and are attempting to start a new career. A recent economic study showed that community college graduates make ten thousand more a year than students with just a high school diploma (Where Value Meets Value, 2014). The unemployment rate is twenty-five percent lower for those with an associate degree than for those that have only graduated from high school (Goldrick-Rab and Kelly, 2016).…
For most high school seniors one of the most important decisions to make is choosing a college or university that could direct them on the right path toward their career goals. Most people say that going to a big, well-known university is the best way toward success, but are they really? There are actually other options that can lead a graduating senior toward success such as community college. Not only is community college more affordable and close to home, but it can also offer the same opportunities as that a well known university. An example would be Lorain County Community College, offering four-year degrees and having more than a handful of other associate degrees for first-time students.…

I chose to attend a community college for three main reasons: affordability, location, and small classes. Right out of high school I started college at a public, four-year college, University of River Falls; I had to drop out a month in due to medical issues. At that time I was unaware that I could make a medical appeal and get a full refund, so when I tried college again I was over a thousand dollars in debt from my first attempt. I’m on disability, so my income is limited and I can’t work that many hours. The location of my current community college, St. Cloud Technical and Community College, is right by most of my doctors, so the location is a great fit for me.…
When I graduated on June 2012, I had no idea what to do, I missed a whole semester (Fall 2012) because nobody helped me with college applications and didn't know how to apply for community college. When I started community college (Spring 2013) I was placed placed in really easy classes which I really didn't need to transfer and was also not interested in. Unfortunately, during my first two-three years at community college years, a lot of things happened. My father got into an accident at work, where he amputated his fingers when he was chopping wood with a table saw.…
No matter how many movies you watch, no matter how many stories you read, and no matter how many questions you ask, college is never what you expect it to be; especially if you are not going away to a four-year school. All throughout their high school years, teens dream about moving away, gaining an independence, and maybe even joining Greek life. When I decided to go to a community college senior year of high school, I felt a variety of emotions. Sadness was the most prevalent emotion. I chose to go to a community college because I was paying for college on my own (as so many college students do).…
A great benefit to attending a community college is the affordability for its students. Many students that want to enroll in a State university will soon realize that it requires a surplus amount of money, in which a lot of kids can’t afford what so ever. Community college gives the opportunity to students who don’t have the luxury of paying for a state university, the capability of achieving a college education. When you attend a State university you’ll have to take out a lot of loans, which can pile up and cause a great deal of stress that most kids in college can’t handle.…
