I chose a major of Child Development and Family living in college to become a counselor for terminally ill children in hospitals.Towards the end of my college career I accepted a position as a teacher assistant for the college childhood lab (pre-school program). Seeing the children progress through their learning and developmental stages gave me a sense of satisfaction and purpose. I loved seeing the "light bulb effect" on the children ( the "aha!" moment). Also, the love and trust that these children show makes a person feel so empowered and important. Knowing that I was …show more content…
These children come from low socio-economic backgrounds and truly need a person to care for them and help them along their path in life (both educationally and emotionally). At the end of the day when these children depart for the bus or car rider lines they are truly saddened to leave. They just want me to hug them goodbye "one more time". Knowing that I'm making a difference in these children's lives gives me great purpose to continue in my educational career.First, a person must be aware that not every student will be impacted by your teaching (at least the first few years). As growing up, I have encountered many things. Various of things that have shaped, molded, and formed the individual who I am today — moreover, what profession I wish to pursue in my near future. Which still happens to be a Clinical Child Psychologist. To summarize my explanations on why I chose this career are primarily rationalized by the idea of myself empowering one individual, relationship, or family at a time. Rather than myself empowering on a grand scale of people; since I do love to help children specifically.…

I have known since I was younger that I wanted to help children in some way. I began my degree in Psychology while serving in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, I realized I had a passion for not only leading, but educating. I thrived during the times I could give lectures, presentations, and present new content to my division. Once I left the Navy, I realized that teaching older children, middle school and high school ages, was something I wanted to seriously consider.…

For a long time, I had been fascinated with children and how they think and how resilient they are at such a young age. I began to notice this at around the age of 13 when I began babysitting for family friends’ children. As I began to realize that I love being around children, I began to look into career fields that involve children Throughout my high school and college career, I continued to work with kids, I volunteer with many youth organizations through my school, such as the child care center on campus. The most impactful experience for me occurred while I was a sophomore in High School, a young boy that I attend school with was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia. As time progressed and this boy, Bo, grew increasingly ill, I began to realize that I wanted to be someone that had the opportunity to help children.…

My Educational Autobiography Education to me used to mean sitting in a classroom and soaking up information that would probably never be useful to me. Now, I do agree with at least trying to find the use of what is being taught. If a topic is being discussed, it’s more than likely to have some level of educational value. I learn best by doing research and working with others rather than sitting through a discussion, so throughout high school, I didn’t exactly understand the material the same as my peers because each class very rarely incorporated this style of learning.…

Now I can level with the teachers a bit. I understand that teaching brats that are disrespectful and don’t want to be there when you are trying to teach something that you love is hard, even painful. Regardless of this trouble it is very important to remain passionate in giving lessons. A passionate teacher can make all the difference to those few students who want to be there. When I as a young student walked into my new classroom for the first time and saw a cranky person who looked bored and like they would rather be anywhere else on earth, it set the tone for the rest of that class.…

Final Exam According to Guardian News Editor, Sarah Marsh (2015), over 80% of teachers polled said that they started teaching because they loved working with children and more than 70% quit their teaching jobs because of the huge work load. As a teacher, I will face the challenge of dealing with school violence, having to modify my teaching to fit into many different learning abilities, along with motivating parents to get involved in their child’s education. Although challenging, teaching can also have many rewards such as, getting to work with children, sharing with them a passion for learning and also the added perk of having an abundance of vacation time. Working with children is a deep passion of mine that I consider to be rewarding.…

I loved to be able to see how teachers who have been teaching for several years have grown so much since they first started. Teaching is an ongoing educational job, where you learn and gain new experiences every day. In my classroom, I hope that I can involve the parents of my students in as many ways as I possibly can because I feel that parents are a necessity to a child’s educational growth. Although, it may be hard to get them into the classroom, I also want them to advocate for their children all the way throughout their schooling. Teaching is a very rewarding job to see students grow as learners and that is why I cannot wait to be a teacher.…

I am interested in working with young children because they are our future, and need to be prepared as best as they can in order for them to excel and make the world a better place. My love for children started off when I was taking Human development in high school as a freshman and that same teacher informed me to join Early Childhood development and preschool class our school offered. I agreed to join and enjoyed the class, and running a preschool for a month. I knew then that I wanted to work with children as a career and go to college. Working with children often reminds me of when I was young and struggled to understand my preschool teacher since at that time my first language was Spanish.…
