Why I Chose Christian University Essay

I want to continue my education in a Christian academic community because of the social hardships that I faced in high school. I firmly believe that when people live with Christ they have a Jesus vibe that makes forming deeper bonds more meaningful. In high school, I have made good friends; however, they aren't believers which makes navigating the perils of high school more difficult because the way I choose to live is significantly different than their way of pursuing life. Whether it was a band event, football game, group project, or just hanging out, I felt like the odd duck out because I didn't share a deeper connection with these people. Living with ignorance is no way to live. I would value that enlightenment to come through my shared Biblical perspective on them. Even with the social and academic benefits to furthering my education in a Christian setting, the most valuable and attractive benefit for me is immense opportunity to grow in my personal relationship with Christ. Spiritual opportunities like chapel services, Biblical classes, spiritual development extracurricular activities, mission opportunities, and the daily integration of faith would not otherwise be available to me. My faith is the most fundamental part of my life and attending a Christian university provides an atmosphere where I can prioritize my relationship with Christ at an age filled with temptation and in a secular world that promotes self instead of Jesus.
