Why I Choose To Become A Teacher

When I was younger, my parents and my oldest sister told me to finish out school no matter how much I struggle while doing so. The reason my family told me this is because neither one of them finished out high school and graduated. My family didn’t want me to be like them when it came to my education. They knew that when I was younger, I was smart and I always achieved my goals, as long as I put my mind to it and worked hard. In middle school, I hard time with school. I never really payed attention much when I should’ve. By high school, I finally told myself that I needed to get my act together to be able to concentrate, pay attention in classes, do my homework and study for test. throughout high school, I did have trouble in some classes, …show more content…
When I was younger, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I remember playing school with my siblings and I was the one who argued and fought so I could be the teacher and have my siblings be the students. As I got older, I realized how much I loved helping people at any chance I could get. Another reason why I chose to become a teacher was because of one specific person. In high my favorite teacher happened to be my band teacher. I was in his class for about seven years, therefore; he watched me grow up into the person I am today. Throughout the years of me being in class, you could see that he genuinely cared about his students well-being and education wise. Not only that, but he loved his job and loved to see what his students could accomplish as a group. Having this quality/talent with kids is a good thing it comes to becoming an educator. The kids may pay attention more in class if they like you. A couple more qualities/talents that I have that would help me a successful teacher is that I’m always organized, have a great attitude, and very respectful. These specific things will be helpful when I become a teacher. You always want to have a great attitude and be respectful with the students because if you do the students will have a great attitude and be respectful towards you right back. Organization is key to becoming a teacher. You always want to be well organized with the way you teach a lesson or the way that your classroom is set up.
