Why I Choose A Supply Chain Management Career And My Personal Strategy For The SCM Career?

This paper provides an analysis and evaluation of why I choose a Supply Chain Management (SCM) career and my personal strategy for my career after graduation. The report also draws attention to the fact that the analysis has identifications and measurements, some of which include: organization skills, strategic mindset, planning, problem solving, supply chain management, marketing and leadership experience that will be employed to improve and assist the vision and mission of the organization I will be a part of.
The paper shows that short, medium, and long-term goals setting are my first points to be successful and put my life into real-action mode. I also have some back-up plans to meet those goals. To become a better person, I need to think

Before graduation, I would like to do an internship with a company or an organization related to SCM. I also have an objective that is to seek a position where organization skills, strategic mindset, planning, problem solving, supply chain management, marketing and leadership experience will be employed to improve and assist the vision and mission of the organization. Five to ten years from now, I would like to see myself in a position that has decision making at the strategic/macro level or a level directly affecting the top business decisions as a career-minded professional. I also have some back-up plans to meet those goals, such as applying for intern positions first rather than applying for manager positions after graduation. Furthermore, logistics careers have not only been held by men, but women also have been increasingly involved in this sector. As many women are holding up top positions in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, I also want to be one of them in this field with a successful career as my long-term goal. Related to my work experience, knowledge, and skill in the area of bilateral relationships in the foreign countries, I have a strong background in intercultural communications, negotiations, and communication techniques, foreign relations, and also Quality Management Systems. For example, I participated in Trade Delegation Meetings between the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of Turkey and USA, Canada, and countries in South America. I represented the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology for Industry Working Group Meetings in Turkey, Romania, and Italy; OECD Joint Working Party of Environment Meetings (JWTEP) in France; WTO, UNDP, UNDAF, and Eight Developing Countries (D8) meetings in Turkey; and Mixed Economic Commission Meetings of the EU and Balkans Countries in Turkey.
