He wanted to show normal American boy’s boyhood with his family’s normal life. For this, he decided to take this movie for 12 years. He casted actors, and called them every year to take the scenes of the year. Every year, they took about 15 minutes of scenes, and after 12 years this movie was finally released to audience. The first shooting started in 2002, and the last shooting finished in 2014. Honestly, it was a brilliant idea, but at the same time, it was an impractical idea. However, the director and actors finished this movie without any problem. I really respect their patience and endurance. The boy lived with his elder sister and single mother. Sometimes, he and his sister could meet their father, but he was so lazy and thus he could not remarry with his ex-wife. The boy’s mother decided to remarry with an old professor rather than her ex-husband, but her second marriage was so terrible.
