I would still pass through the 5 stages of grief but I know I would get up quickly to acceptance phase due to my knowledge on resent medication and treatment option available. Quick acceptance would only make me to focus on treatment and the opportunity to fight back to beat the disease without letting the disease to win by getting hold of my life…
What is suffering? Suffering is an emotional, physical, and mental sensation we experience in times of distress. People suffer everyday for different reasons, some suffer due to hunger, while others suffer loss of a loved one. We all experience it and we all cope with it in different ways. Some people wish to remove suffering from their life entirely, but is it possible?…
Many people envision Hell as a place with demons and torture, but they don’t realize Hell can be found on Earth. People will work to find and exploit others’ fears and secrets. This is just what happens in Jean-Paul Sartre’s No Exit. Estelle, Garcin, and Inez, the protagonists of the play, have all died and gone to Hell. They expect the faceless torturers and punishment for their sins, but they soon discover they’re to be each other’s torturers.…

Suffering is a natural part of life. It can happen to anyone, even when they least expect it. The human kind is suffering, and human nature doesn’t change. Therefore, since we have suffered, we will continue to suffer.…
It is the strength of God that help to carry on and move forward. Prayer is powerful. God does not always answer us when we want Him to, but He does hear us and in His time He will move on what we ask Him for. Personally, my decisions have not always been led by God, but I do frequently ask Him for guidance and for His advice. When I do something that is not of his liking, I talk to God about it and ask Him to help me through the situation and ask for forgiveness.…
Recovery doesn’t happen overnight. Recovery is a lifelong process. Recovery requires effort—reaching out for education and learning through trial and error helps us rise like a phoenix from the ashes of our darkest moments. Full throttle and warp speed are only for spaceships—certainly not for recovery. We should give ourselves permission to move at a tortoise’s speed when necessary, remembering that the tortoise won the race with the hare nonetheless.…
Human beings too often avert their eyes from suffering. We choose to avoid our afflictions in an attempt to deny the necessary evils within humanity. By not confronting the truths surrounding the worst in us, however, we become ignorant of a vital and possibly beneficial aspect of human nature. Both Dante’s Inferno and Shakespeare’s King Lear seek to bring attention to human suffering, illustrating our griefs and sorrows as consequences of our own agency. This pain that we cause ourselves can be handled in different ways that further define human suffering; each narrative profoundly explores both approaches, as Dante and Shakespeare portray suffering not only as a method of further inflicting pain on ourselves, but also as an opportunity…
Is suffering supposed to make sense? Why do we suffer? At first this question seems intuitive. However, after the first spontaneous outburst of answers, we start to question why there is suffering in the world and how we can make sense of it. Generally, when these ultimate questions are asked we tend to assert conclusions based on God or our personal values.…
My personal definition of suffering is a displeasing feeling or emotion someone is going through. In my eyes suffering can happen in different ways emotionally, physically, or even mentally. Sometimes you can tell when someone is suffering because they could have a look of discourage in their eyes or even in the way their voice sounds. Suffering doesn't feel like any fun when you're going through it. If you're going through it emotionally it could really slow you down and make you feel discouraged.…
1Peter 2:19-20 says, “For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God”. There is a suffering common to man; we have a name for those things like natural disaster and cancer. Then there is the sort of suffering we endure because we worship the Lord, we are hated by many and most importantly by the god of this world.…
We have all had those moments that made us wonder and question God, “Why is this happening to me Lord,” and only getting worse, will it get any better; but then we start believing and having faith. And soon, things start to turn around instantly for the better. For instance, bills may be due, sickness, job lost, bad break up or anything that tend to have a negative emotional effect. For me, growing up, I've witnessed most things kids should never have to experience or think about experiencing growing up; such things as living situations, education and health challenges. Most people would expect someone to give up being faced with so much negativity; but with faith I persevered through them all.…
Have you ever had a tooth pulled? I have. It's annoying and I despised it. I truly hated being numbed more than the hammer, screw driver and whatever else these crazy dentists use to take my tooth out of my head.…
Patience in Action and Faith is a Virtue of Jesus Christ Growing up in rural Upstate New York, I can remember how quite often my mother and father would repeatedly tell me and my brother that “patience is a virtue”. Granted this counsel, was often repeated during times of impatience and frustration. As a young child, it brings to my remembrance many experiences of sharing toys with my brother, wanting and waiting for the sharp edge of my popsicle to be cut off with scissors, or the endless “Are we there yet’s?” of our summer family road trips.…
