College has been nothing as I expected, as well as an unforgiving experience. Since, in high school teachers supposed to lead the education of their students. However, now that I am attending college it is clear that I am the owner of my own learning. (Hazard & Nadeau, 2011, p. 11) When I was attending high school, I did not have any other responsibilities other than my education. However, now that I am attending college, there are expenses that need to be paid. This has caused me to both, be employed be a college attendee. In CORE class, I learned about Dweck’s Mindset Theory, which defines how we measure our intelligence (Hazard & Nadeau, 2011, p. 99). Either you see it as a fixed attribute that cannot be expanded which is entity view. In the other hand, if you see intelligence as an attribute that can be increased and expanded on, then you possess incremental view. I believe myself to possess an incremental …show more content…
I think that we are in a constant stance of learning. Nobody is born knowing all there is to know (Hazard & Nadeau, 2011, p. 99). Over the elapse of these last 10 weeks, I have overcome is procrastination. I came to the conclusion that my signature themes which are, responsibility, deliberate, discipline have aided me against procrastination. Since, I am a responsible person I have to always have my assignments completed. According to Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, (2006) what describes a deliberate person is “your world needs to be predictable. It needs to be ordered and planed. So you instinctively impose structure on your world” (p. 45). In my case, this is true, I make plans so it all there is nothing unexpected. Which helps plan things, which in turn help me not procrastinate. Finally, my Discipline signature theme assist me against procrastination since it also helps me to “plan ahead so as to anticipate what might go wrong” (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006, p.
