In the essay "I am Writing Blindly" by Roger Rosenblatt, he describes the great value writing has on people. Rosenblatt claimed that "we exist by storytelling- by relating our situations..," which is what makes us have freedom and have the ability to communicate with people even after death. The usage of the different stories in the essay portrays the necessity of writing, that'd be before dying to leave a mark of remembrance or to prove a point by storytelling. Therefore Rosenblatt's examples of why people write and he's consecutive structure of writing makes his essay enjoyable to read, although he lacks clarity in the beginning of his essay and a few paragraphs. When Rosenblatt describes the JAL airliner that went down in 1985 and the Warsaw…

Writing is a way for someone to express their emotions on how they are feeling, it can provide someone with a safe place to keep their thoughts, or just a way to express themselves. This explanation of what writing does is seen throughout Bechdel’s piece “The Ordinary Devoted Mother”, for example, in the piece Alison says she has already written a whole other journal on her father and both of their relationships with their mother. This is Alison’s way of expressing her feelings towards her biological parents and providing her with a way to cope with what happened between her parents when she was a child, and the grief that it caused her. Another example of writing being a way for someone to express themselves is with her mother. For example, in the piece Alison says, “My mother logs her daily activities in her journal” (Page 84).…

In the article "Do You Really Think You Are a Good Writer?" the writer Amadeo Constanzo mentions, motivates, and inspires how really important students should work hard to improve their writing skills in remedial class whether they think they are good writers or not. Describe Yourself As A Writer I’ve come to realize that after years of writing papers, I’m actually a better writer than I give myself credit for. I’ve noticed over time that I’ve advanced in how I structure my paragraphs, however, not so much with my sentences. It’s like making a cake look delicious at first glance with frosting and decorations, but then you take a bite and there 's way too much sugar or it 's overcooked in the inside. My strength in writing includes: using better words to describe what I’m writing about, spelling complex words, creativity, and passion.…
