In those weeks it really hit me how lucky I was to have everything I had back home. These people literally are living out of houses made of sheets of rusty metal and I was complaining about how I had to vacuum the house. I think it is important to give every child the right to have an education.
I want to be a teacher because I love seeing that moment on the students’ face where they are excited to learn and understand what is being taught. I also like the challenge of getting the student engaged in what is being taught. Each student is different and some students have so much potential, but they are not given enough attention to reach it. When you find what that student is interested in and can relate to them in some way it opens up so many doors to their learning and your teaching.
If I could take all of the teachers that can teach and put them into one single person that would be how I want to teach and manage my classroom. I think it would be amazing if I could get all of my students to leave whatever is bothering them that day outside and have their full attention, but the chances of that happening are low. I want my students to feel like they have gotten something out of the class. It is important to teach them about my subject, but I also feel like it is important to teach them real life applications and opportunities to use
