I can tell that this is where Truth struggles the most. He was still quiet, while classmates wiggled and spoke over the teacher, but when he struggled with a worksheet, he claimed that he wanted to give up and needed to be encouraged to try again. At 12:40 the three students went back to class. They came in to see that their classmates were working on centers. Truth, Carlos, and Jaiden were set up at a computer where they watched a movie about phonics. While I was walking around the room, one student turned to me and asked why they got to watch a movie instead of do the centers. While observing all of the wiggling around him, I’m astonished at how quiet and polite Truth is, never taking his eyes off of his teacher. At 2:45 the students are taken back to their classroom. Truth joins his classmates in a discussion about vibrations, he interacts with his neighbors, listens when the teacher is talking, and is very interactive. At 3:00 the class return to the carpet for a story where Truth sits with his hands in his lap, turning to none of his neighbors and focusing directly on the teacher. By 3:15 they’re cleaning up and preparing for the end of the day. Truth waits quietly at his desk for when he’s called to get his backpack, then without saying much of anything he gathers his things together. At 3:30 everyone heads out to the bus, and Truth’s school day
