Personal Statement: My Goals And Philosophy Of Education

Ever since I was a little boy all I’ve wanted to do was help people. I wanted to be the person that runs into a burning building or stop a speeding bullet just to help a person in need. As a little boy, whenever I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I didn’t have a definite answer, but I knew whatever I ended up doing I would be helping people. Once I entered the public school system as a first grader I instantly fell in love with school. I loved going to school each day and seeing my friends, but most importantly learning new things. I was one of those kids that would sit in the front of class and pay very close attention to the lesson, I absolutely loved to learn. With my passion for agriculture and helping people being an Ag teacher sounds like the perfect job. I will be able to educate the future members of society about the importance of agriculture and how to ensure our survival. This is why I want to teach! I want to spend time educating the future members of our society and world; teaching them the skills and information they will need to pursue and vocational career. With the current population growth it is said that agriculture production around the world will need to multiply by some 200% to feed the estimated population by 2050. This doesn’t seem very realistic to most people and honestly it isn’t unless we start producing more Ag producers. My major goal for my future teaching career and once again the basis behind why I want to be a teacher is to ignite a spark in the next generation to go into an Ag-related line of work.
