Why Do I Want To Be A Politician Essay

Politics is something that 's important to me. It 's the one thing that I 'm most interested in and something I 'm passionate about. It all started in High School. After taking my first Government class I was enlightened. As I learned more about The United States dark history I become more intrigued. As time went by I started to research different topics and follow different politicians. As I graduated from high school and started college I took various political classes which lit a flame inside of me and made me realized that I wanted to be a politician. I want to be a politician but one obstacle I would have to overcome is my emotions. Being a politician mean I 'll have to make many important decisions and in making those decisions …show more content…
Because my emotions are part of me it makes me who I am as a person and rather than depriving myself of my emotions I should accept it. I should accept the fact that I 'm a sensitive person and let my emotions give meaning to life and help me make the right decisions. Sartre would say that the present the future is all in my hands. No one can determine how the future will look. What I do now will determine the future. My decisions and actions now will shape the man I will be in the future not anyone else or any outside force. I 'm a free to be who I want and who I chose to be. My emotions perhaps are the best thing to use and guide me because if I 'm determined to help those in need and determine to be a politician then how can I be afraid of my emotions getting the best of me? Sartre would say if I forsake my emotions then I 'm abandoning part of myself. I wouldn 't complete be me without my Emotions and I wouldn 't know how my decisions affect others because I Wouldn 't care how they feel. My emotions are my greatest strength I should listen to them and let them guide …show more content…
No one knows the future, no one can predict the future and no one can add meaning to life and help me find my purpose in life but me. And what makes me is my emotions. They helped me to be aware of my weaknesses and strength. They 've guided me and led me to think more intent as to how my decisions and who I do would affect others around me. The thing my emotions would get the best of me and blind me from the truth is the opposite because by thinking so I 'm failing to acknowledge my flaws as a person and failing to acknowledge who I am as a person and what makes me

Emotions are the strong force that connects humanity. We all weep, cheer, and worry about roughly the same things wether it be the loss of a loved one, the accomplishments of another, or the financial problems that come with being an adult. Emotions are so powerful that life changing decisions are made based off of them every day. Emotions are so crucial to our everyday lives that even mentally ill people that cannot feel emotion pretend to just to fit in. When it comes down to it, unfortunately, facts do not care about ones feelings. I have the boldness required to call out bills proposed that are preposterous and support my claim using logical reasoning. However, I also love to smile and have a good time, so I will not be that one grumpy guy who hates everything and brings everyone down. Rather, I see myself as a person who can use my wit and logic to turn down a bill in a way that seems to be lost in present-day politics. Also, over the summer, I participated in a National Security and Intelligence Conference at American University in Washington D.C., and the lessons that I learned there, which include active listening, how to constructively criticize a proposal, and how to get things done quickly and accurately, would translate very well into the…

The Power of Pathos In the words of Vincent Van Goh, “Let’s not forget that the little emotions are the great captains of our lives and we obey them without realizing it” (Guillemets). Emotions guide people through life like a compass in a similar fashion to how a compass guides a sailor on his voyage. This emotional compass leads us in the path of an ultimately unknown yet assumed destination in life and we follow it blindly every day. In the good times and the bad, emotional experiences and relationships tend to be more memorable and important to people than those with less emotional connections.…

There are several business principles related to patient and system costs in health care that are needed to maintain safe, quality, patient-centered care that is fiscally sound. For this discussion, I will put myself in the shoes of a nurse manager, director of nursing, Chief Nursing Officer, or business owner and consider three of the principles from the Greg Fisher Power Point (2008). The principles I will examine are: 1) decide what makes you different; 2) manage employees; and 3) set goals. The reason why I selected these three business principles is that they appear to me to be a good place to start the groundwork for any business model, including the field of health care.…

Chapter 9: Emotions Nozick’s first words on his chapter on Emotions are as follows: A large part of how we feel about life is shaped by the emotions we have had and expect to have and that feeling too (probably) is an emotion or a combination of them,” (Nozick, pg. 87). From this Chapter, we were give three conclusions, but for this essay I will only focus on two. Conclusion 2: Emotions are not just feelings Conclusion 3: Human beings are better off with emotions than if they were lacking emotion, like Spock.…

A People’s Politician Very few Americans will proudly say that they have had the dream of serving the American people in our nation’s government. For me, unlike anyone else, politics is not just my goal, but my dream. I have always lived my life knowing that no matter what the circumstance, someone doesn’t have all that they are entitled to in life. With that in mind, it drives me everyday to one day become a Politician who will become an advocate for the American people, a voice for freedom, and a philanthropist for humanity. Becoming an advocate for the millions of Americans in the lower classes of society who have felt the pain of poverty, the reality of racism, and the concern over their constitutional rights being stripped away amendment by amendment, would come with no easy responsibility.…

Emotions are something that we feel each and every day. Our emotions for others change who we are, and our acts towards them. If we enjoy the presence of a person we feel happy, excited, and joyful; however, if we dislike the presence of a person we feel hatred, despair, and violence. A strong emotion that we all feel once in a while is hatred, especially hatred for another. Hatred for another makes people forget who they are and treat people differently.…
