The first thing one must learn is to stay organized and priorities. In doing this you will make sure you never miss and assignment or an appointment. Getting an planner is the best way to keep everything in order, learning how to read an textbook and retain the information, and learning how to mange your stress and anxiety. Waiting until the last minute never allows for you to do your best work.
Using a planner is detrimental to your college education. You may wonder, “What can I do with a planner besides write done my homework assignment?” The answer would be that you could plug in your daily appointments, list test and quiz’s dates, and even your finals. Every class has different syllabus pertaining to the class. This information in the syllabus is very important when using a planner, because it has list of projects and paper that on due on certain dates. Which would help you plan out your weekly and monthly schedule.

It’s easy to just read the textbook and then realize that you didn’t retain any of what your read. Not all classes require you to read through each chapter. The best way to read a the best way to retain information while reading is to first skim the chapter and ask question about what sticks out to you, next take notes while reading the text, and highlight while you read. This allows you to refer back to the important details that you read. Learning to mange your stress and anxiety is the most important of all. During your course of college you will go through some ups and downs and feel stressed no matter how organized you are. Knowing that there are places on campus and off campus to help get you through the rough times is a great advantage. Most school offer a counseling center that is free of service to students.
