Why Heroes Are Needed

Heroes Are Needed The meaning of a hero to me is someone who can be looked up to and can do the right thing to lead others. I think heroes are very much needed by everyone. Scott T. Allison states “Heroes bring light into a dark world” (Scott Allison 10 Reasons Why We Need Heroes pp.2.2.6). Heroes are needed because we need people who can lead us in the right direction, give us a sense of safety, and give us hope.

Primarily, heroes are examples of role models, they guide us into making the right decisions and helping us succeed. By being a role model for others makes us realize that we need to follow their lead, which often rewards us. Life can set us back every now and then, and heroes are there to pick us up from those setbacks. When heroes lift us up, we immediately perceive this as a generous heroic act.
