Hazing are the humiliating acts done to a person by a group of people as an initiation into the group. These acts are done mostly in sororities and fraternities across the world. Many hazing activities can include physical, psychological, and even emotional harm. One hazing incident occurred in 2005, where Matthew Carrington and his friend were ridiculed by their “frat mates” during the fraternity’s “Hell Week”. Both were forced to drink five gallons of water, and were then left in the basement with cold air blowing on them. Carrington suffered a seizure, and died that night due to heart failure.
